KEY SPEAKERS: The Hon. Shamfa Cudjoe, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs; Mr. Anil Waithe - Entrepreneur and Accessibility Specialist; Mrs. Yvette Lemonias-Seale

Vice President (Corporate Services) and Bank Secretary, CDB.

This youth engagement session will involve 31 youth, 15 males and 16 females from T&T, St. Lucia, the Bahamas, Haiti, Guyana, Dominica, Barbados and other CDB member countries in a weekend of innovative activities and seminars on Saturday June 1 and Sunday June 2 into Monday when the sessions conclude.

Vybzing arose out of the CDB’s need to develop its first Youth Policy and Operational Strategy (YPOS), which will formalise how youth contribute to the strategic direction of the Bank. Early feedback coming out of the process suggests that CDB should (i) bolster youth engagement in the context of the YPOS and in wider operations; (ii) design and implement a youth engagement platform with a closed feedback loop; (iii) provide increased opportunities for youth-led innovations to be fully integrated into the Bank’s work programme; and (iv) ensure integration of youth perspectives in design of youth-targeted initiatives. The YPOS will guide all of CDB’s engagement with youth, and this Vybzing initiative will be one of the levels of interaction.  The event’s agenda is attached for reference.
