World Television Day 2019
Today, the Ministry of Communications joins the rest of the world in celebrating World Television Day 2019.
Trinidad and Tobago, has had an impactful history of television operations beginning with the first commencement of its television service on 31 August 1962 and its graduation to colour transmissions in 1969 with the NTSC colour broadcast system.
While technology is rapidly evolving and television has to compete with mobile hand-held devices, it is evident that television is still relevant in today’s world.
The Government of Trinidad and Tobago is committed to working with, and engaging all stakeholders to develop new standards and systems in keeping with emerging trends for broadcasting.
Let us pay homage to the important role TV has played in our lives and our nation’s history. Happy World Television Day Trinidad and Tobago!
