WASA: All facilities returned to service except Matura water treatment plants

The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers in parts of North East Trinidad, who experienced a disruption in their pipe borne water supply, due to the impact of recent heavy rainfall on operations at some water treatment facilities; that all affected facilities have been returned to service, barring the Matura Water Treatment Plants, which is still affected by turbid river conditions.
 
The Authority further advises customers in the Matura area that it is closely monitoring the river conditions at this facility and expects to restart the plant in the coming hours, as conditions normalize.
 
Customers are reminded to manage their water use efficiently, as it may take up to 24 hours for the scheduled pipe borne water supply to normalize to some affected areas.
