Update on North Coast Road: Both lanes now open
The Ministry of Works is advising that both lanes of the North Coast Road are open to vehicular traffic following clean up works. Although the road is passable the Ministry is advising motorists to proceed with caution as there is still heavy equipment on site. Geotechnical engineer Dr. Derek Gay is expected to visit the area this week and advise how best to permanently treat with the land-slippage.
The Sangre Grande Regional Corporation’s Disaster Management Unit (DMU) has reported that the landslide at LP 00149 along the Toco Main Road before the Balandra Fishing Depot has been cleared. Vehicular traffic has been restored to both lanes.
Additionally, the Landslide at the Paria Branch Road, Sans Souci (opposite cemetery) has also been cleared.
