Trade Minister to launch the National e-Commerce Strategy 2017-2021
Senator the Honourable Paula Gopee-Scoon, Minister of Trade and Industry will launch the National e-Commerce Strategy 2017-2021 on Wednesday 6 December, 2017 at Level 17, Nicholas Tower, Port-of-Spain at 11:15 am.
E-commerce is considered a key driver for economic growth in Trinidad and Tobago. It enhances competitiveness and efficiency and also gives rise to new economic opportunities. E-commerce continues to grow at exceptional rates across the globe, causing radical change in consumer and business markets. The principal objective of this National Strategy is to create an enabling environment that facilitates and promotes e-commerce for local businesses to serve domestic and international consumer markets.
The Government of Trinidad and Tobago through the implementation of this Strategy will aggressively seek to capitalize on the growth and development of e-commerce because of its transformative economic potential.
