Trade Licence Unit Business Continuity Response to COVID-19

16th March, 2020: In light of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago’s national guidelines recently issued to safeguard the health and safety of the nation’s citizenry in respect of the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Trade and Industry wishes to advise the general public that effective Monday 16th March, 2020, all approved Permits and Licences will be transmitted to its clients via electronic mail. In this regard, clients are asked to provide more than one, and up to three (3) notification email addresses, to which approved documents can be delivered. 

Original copies of all documents will be sent directly to the Office of the Transport Commissioner and the Customs and Excise Division from the Trade Licence Unit (TLU). Therefore, there will be no need for clients to visit the TLU to collect Original copies. 

Walk in Clients and Returning Nationals applicants are encouraged to contact their Customs Brokers for guidance and submission of their applications using the TTBizLink portal. Additional supporting documents for Returning Nationals as well as any requests for amendments, disposals or transfers can be sent to the following email address ( ).

The TLU stands ready to facilitate its mandate to provide its full range of services to the public in line with the strategies set out by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago to minimize the spread of COVID-19.
