February 26, 2016:  “We want this place to be vibrant and pumping,” said the Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, the Honourable Darryl Smith as he joined hands with members of the community and bowed his head to pray for the success of all future endeavours at the St. James Youth Centre.

The Minister was there to officially launch activities at the beautiful three story facility located on Terrebrulee Road where classes have already begun in adult numeracy and literacy, computer literacy for children, dance, aerobics, household plumbing, balloon craft, and floral arrangement.

The community has been waiting a long time for this facility to come on stream, and there was a celebratory mood as the Minister toured the facility joining in a couple of the classes much to the delight of the participants.

Minister Smith hopes that the community of St. James and environs would take advantage of the offerings at the Centre. All courses are free and interested parties are invited to call 778-4657 or 762-3855 or to visit the Website of the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs for more information.
