Roxborough Hospital Incident Update: Worker in stable condition
On Friday 19 June, one of the employees of the Sub Contractor on the Roxbourogh Hospital Project in Tobago, sustained injuries from a 10 foot fall. The injured worker required surgery and is currently listed as resting in a stable condition at the Scarborough General Hospital.
Immediately following the incident, which occurred between 7.45am and 8.15am, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) representative for Tobago was notified and a subsequent site visit was conducted by the OSHA personnel on the same day.
Safety is the number one priority for the Urban Development Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago (UDeCOTT) and the organization prides itself in adhering to safety protocols in accordance with international standards. With over 100 active projects, across Trinidad and Tobago, UDeCOTT has always maintained an excellent safety record.
A complete investigation of the event is being conducted by OSHA and the report will be forthcoming within a week. UDeCOTT will also conduct a review to prevent any repetition of this incident.
