Re-appointment of Dr. Alvin Hilaire as Governor of the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago (CBTT)

Port of Spain: On Wednesday 23rd December, 2020, the Hon. Colm Imbert, Minister of Finance, presented instruments of appointment to Dr. Alvin Hilaire as Governor of the Central Bank of Trinidad & Tobago (CBTT), for a term of three (3) years.

Dr. Alvin Hilaire is a career Central Banker, having worked with CBTT for a cumulative period of approximately twenty (20) years, holding positions of Senior Economist, Chief Economist and Director of Research and Deputy Governor. Dr. Hilaire has extensive experience in macroeconomic policy development and implementation and monetary policy matters. Dr. Hilaire holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from Columbia University in New York and graduated with First Class Honors from the University of the West Indies at St. Augustine.

Dr. Hilaire’s first term as Governor ended on December 22nd, 2020.
