The Trinidad and Tobago Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has noted the comments made by the Opposition Member of Parliament and former Housing Minister, Dr. Roodal Moonilal in the Parliament and the subsequent media reports regarding the engagement of PwC to conduct certain audits at the HDC. The HDC categorically rejects the many inaccurate statements made by the Opposition parliamentarian in relation to the PwC audit and wishes to clarify the following:

• PwC was contracted in accordance with the HDC's procurement policies, and was paid in Trinidad and Tobago dollars;
• PwC was contracted to conduct this specific audit via a duly executed agreement with the HDC. This agreement was formalised before PwC was given access to any HDC records.
• All inquiries or requests for information made by PwC were authorised by or submitted on behalf of the HDC.

The matters which were the subject of the audits conducted by the PwC are now receiving the attention of the courts of Trinidad and Tobago. As such, the HDC will not provide any further comments.
