Prime Minister clarifies reports of IBD involvement in Tobago Hotel Project

June 21, 2016: It has been inaccurately reported that the Prime Minister, Dr. the Honourable Keith Rowley, announced at a meeting in St. Joseph last Tuesday (14th June 2016) that the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has approved funding for the Tobago-Sandals Hotel project.

Following these reports, Prime Minister Dr Rowley has re-iterated statements made.

Dr. Rowley emphasised that the IDB has approved funding for the extension of the Valencia Highway as well as the construction of a port in Toco.
Prime Minister Rowley did not indicate any involvement by the IDB in the Tobago-Sandals Hotel project. All reports to this effect are entirely erroneous.
