Opening of the Arima General Hospital
Prime Minister Dr the Honourable Keith Rowley officially opened the long-awaited, state of the art, Arima General Hospital on Tuesday 9 June, 2020.
The hospital offers ambulatory care, accident and emergency, pharmacy/dispensary, laboratory/blood bank and mortuary services. Other medical services include radiology, physiotherapy, psychiatry, orthopaedics/burns, optical, ENT, obstetrics, gynaecology and surgery.
It is outfitted with 150 beds and all relevant medical equipment, furniture, security systems, data and wireless networking along with a central energy plant and waste water treatment plant.
This project was executed under a Government to Government arrangement between Trinidad and Tobago and the People’s Republic of China.
The facility will serve as the primary inpatient health care facility in the Borough of Arima and its environs including D’Abadie, La Horquetta, Malabar and Arouca.
