Obtain permission before erecting advertising signs

The public is advised that it is illegal to place signs, advertisements, billboards, structures or any similar type of device on any of the Ministry’s assets: traffic lights’, medians; bridges; walkovers; and road reserves without prior written authorization from the Ministry.
These illegal advertising displays are a risk to road safety as they conflict with authorised traffic signs, are a distraction to motorists and also deface the property of the Ministry of Works and Transport.
Persons and organisations who engage in this activity are asked to OBEY the laws in accordance with the Highways Act, or risk being fined and having your illegal signage removed by Estate Constables attached to the Ministry.
