Notesmaster Training Commences
14 January, 2021, Port-of-Spain: The Ministry of Education continues the upskilling and training for teachers with virtual training sessions, which commenced on Monday 11th January 2021, in partnership with Notesmaster of the UK. This allows for principals and teachers to develop competencies in the use and creation of Open Educational Resources (OER). This training program was designed to support stakeholder engagement with the MOE Trinidad and Tobago Curriculum Writers program. Online lessons were created by local teachers and made available on the Notesmaster Platform for twelve (12) subject areas. This program trains teachers in the use and manipulation of these existing resources and in content creation.
As of Monday January 11th, primary and secondary school teachers and principals across all seven (7) education districts have begun the training. As the Ministry of Education enters into a new season of digital engagement, the upskilling of teachers to use the available technology and resources is imperative for the success of both teachers and students.
Training will be conducted at a later date for parents to become familiar with the platform as the content will enable parents to further and more efficiently support their children in the teaching and learning process. The Ministry will make available a schedule for training once the sessions for parents/guardians are carded to begin.
