New Minister of Social Development meets and greets staff
January 8, 2020, Port of Spain---The new Minister of Social Development and Family Services, the Honourable Camille Robinson-Regis, met and greeted the Management Team and staff of the Ministry during her tour of the Ministry's Head Office and other offices located in Port of Spain yesterday. During her interactions with staff at every level in the Ministry, Minister Robinson-Regis expressed her excitement to be in the Ministry that touches and changes the lives of people. She told members of staff: "We must make people comfortable when they come to our offices. As we know, the family is an important unit in our society and we must work towards improving family life in our country."
The Minister also expressed that more focus needs to be placed on making grants available to the people most in need. She told staff members that they too must feel good and excited about helping, empowering and transforming lives and pledged her commitment toward ensuring that the needs of the vulnerable are met in the shortest possible time. The Minister encouraged staff to value what they do and indicated that she looks forward to working with everyone to improve the living standards for all citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.
The Minister will continue visits to the various social welfare district offices during the rest of the week and also looks forward to visiting several of the NGO groups that receive subventions and financial assistance from the Ministry.
