MoE hosts virtual launch of the Notesmaster platform

30 October 2020: The Ministry of Education, on Thursday, 29th October 2020, hosted a virtual launch of the Notesmaster Platform that will now be available to citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. The digital resource’s availability was birthed out of a partnership among the Ministry of Education, the Commonwealth of Learning, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and Notesmaster. This new digital resource is specifically designed to support the creation and sharing of interactive content between teachers that can subsequently be made available to students.

The platform is free to all teachers and there is no limit to the number of students who can be facilitated in a teacher’s virtual classroom. Different from all of the other resources made available by the Ministry, Notesmaster contains digital copies of the CXC suite of subjects and resources. To ensure that the platform is appropriately and adequately used the Ministry of Education will be facilitating a series of training and sensitization workshops over the next six months. The workshops will allow more teachers to be trained in digital content creation and help parents and students to understand and navigate the Notesmaster website.

During the launch, Dr the Honourable Nyan Gadsby-Dolly highlighted that even though COVID-19 has had negative influences globally, collaborations such as this are positive outcomes which must be recognised, applauded and appreciated. “To be able to offer this resource to our teachers in collaboration with all of these stakeholders at a time such as this; where the entire world’s education system is reeling from the effects of the pandemic, means that we have been sincerely blessed here in Trinidad and Tobago,” stated Dr. Gadsby-Dolly.
