Minor Adjustment to the Statement from the Honourable Terrence Deyalsingh, Minister of Health, on the Opening of Retail Business Establishments
Port of Spain, 17th August 2021: The Ministry advises that the Statement from the Honourable Terrence Deyalsingh, Minister of Health on the Opening of Retail Business Establishments should have been identified at Statement No. 8 and NOT as Statement No. 9.
The authorisation and notifications contained in the original Statement from the Minister of Health on the Opening of Retail Business Establishments remain valid. This adjustment is being made for administrative purposes only.
As such, the adjusted Statement from the Minister of Health should read as follows:

Statement No. 8
Retail Business Establishments will be allowed to operate on a temporary basis.
Pursuant to Regulation 3(10)(ao) of the Emergency Powers (No. 2) Regulations, 2021, with effect from Monday 16th August 2021, the Minister of Health hereby authorises all Retail Business Establishments to operate, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, Monday through Sunday.
Operators, employees and customers of the abovementioned establishments are advised to comply strictly with the other legal requirements of the Emergency Powers (No. 2) Regulations, 2021, the public health guidelines and the legal requirements of the Public Health [2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV)] (No. 18) Regulations, 2021.
Authorizations granted by the Minister of Health pursuant to Statements 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 remain valid.
Members of the public are further asked to note that the operations of the CEPEP Company Limited and the Unemployment Relief Programme will resume with effect from Monday 16th August 2021, in accordance with the legal requirements of the Emergency Powers (No. 2) Regulations, 2021, the public health guidelines and the legal requirements of the Public Health [2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV)] (No. 18) Regulations, 2021.
The Ministry of Health will continue to monitor this development and take steps to safeguard the health of the population.
