Ministry of National Security welcomes new CoP
Minister of National Security the Honourable Stuart Young formally introduced Mr. Gary Griffith as Commissioner of Police at a Media Conference held at the Ministry of National Security, Port of Spain, after a meeting of the various Heads of the nation’s National Security Apparatus. Minister Young also took the opportunity to thank outgoing Ag. Commissioner of Police Mr. Stephen Williams for his service for the past six years.
Minister Young informed that last evening, Commissioner Griffith was handed his instrument of appointment from the Police Service Commission by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of National Security, Mr. Vel Lewis.
Flanked by the Heads of the Ministry’s Defence and Protective Services, Minister Young stated that all agencies are united and ready to work together with the new Commissioner of Police, to bring safety and security to Trinidad and Tobago.
Speaking to the media, Commissioner Griffith stated that he is committed to fulfilling the broad range of responsibilities that come with the office of Commissioner of Police and he is ready to serve his country in this new role. He promised the population that he would work assiduously to build public trust and confidence in the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
