Ministry of National Security mourns the passing of Immigration Attache in Miami - Mrs. Rhonda Hackett-Thompson, Immigration Officer IV
Port of Spain: The Ministry of National Security extends sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Immigration Officer IV Mrs. Rhonda Hackett-Thompson on her sudden passing on Monday January 04, 2021.
Mrs. Hackett-Thompson began her public service career twenty-five (25) years ago as a Prison Officer before joining the Immigration Division in 2001. She rose to the rank of Immigration Officer IV and was last posted as the Immigration Attaché at the Consulate General of Trinidad and Tobago in Miami in November 2019. She also served as Vice Immigration Attaché at the Consulate General of Trinidad and Tobago in Toronto, Canada from 2012 to 2015.
Mrs. Hackett-Thompson was a dedicated Immigration Officer, wife and mother. She was also a passionate steel pan enthusiast who played the 9 Bass with Phase 11 Pan Groove for many years. She will be well remembered for her vibrant personality and for leading staff camaraderie-building events at the Trinidad and Tobago Immigration Division.
