Minister of National Security encourages multi-agency approach

At his weekly meeting with heads of the defence and protective services last Friday August 16, 2019, Minister of National Security the Honourable Stuart R. Young, M.P. reiterated the need for the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force and the Intelligence Services to continue their support for the Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service.

Minister Young encouraged the multi-agency approach to counter the scourge of criminal activity that emanates from within the Prisons.

Resources from the Police Service and Defence Force have been allocated to work with the Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service to tackle elements of criminality who believe they can continue to operate while incarcerated.

Minister Young assured Commissioner of Prisons Mr. Gerard Wilson that the Government continues to support the men and women in the Prison Service and remains committed to improving their safety and working conditions.

The Minister thanks all of the men and women in the National Security apparatus for their continued commitment and dedication.
