Minister Hosein applauds Councillor Teresa Lynch for valiant efforts
The Minister of Rural Development and Local Government, Senator the Honourable Haji Kazim Hosein commended Councillor for Cocoyea/Tarouba, Teresa Lynch for her bravery and selflessness displayed in the rescue of an 85 year old man belonging to her electoral district.
Councillor Lynch risked her life to rescue one of her burgesses, a pensioner after he was trapped at his St. Andrew’s Street home in Cocoyea when a fire broke out around 2pm, yesterday. Minister Kazim Hosein applauded Councillor Lynch’s efforts saying, “Through this action, you have actively demonstrated what it truly means to be a servant of the people. I want to personally thank you as one of the youngest Councillors across our country for displaying such a heroic effort. You are indeed an exemplar to your fellow Councillors. Continue to serve the people of your burgess to the best of your ability.”
Minister Hosein reminded all local government practitioners saying, “As a Councillor and a servant of the people, you are expected to do everything reasonably within your power to assist and do so with dignity and pride. Always remember in your interaction with the wonderful people of our country that service to God is service to Mankind”.
