La Reine Rive Queens compete this weekend

Fifteen queens from across Trinidad and Tobago will compete in the finals of Self-Expression and Talent on Saturday 10th August, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the National Academy Performing Arts, Port of Spain. La Reine Rive (Miss Best Village) is one of the most anticipated categories of the Prime Minister’s Best Village Trophy Competition - a programme under the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and the Arts.

Saturday’s Show will include the Self Expression category where each contestant will have two minutes to speak about the community which her group is based, and attributes for which it is famous.  This segment will be followed by the talent segment where queens will showcase their performances in the areas of dance, music, drama or any combination. The competition continues to encourage a sense of national pride, community spirit and retention of the Folk Art in young women across the country.

The Prime Minister’s Best Village Trophy Competition is an annual programme under the Best Village Unit, Ministry of Community Development, Culture and the Arts designed to promote, enhance and preserve the nation’s diverse, indigenous culture.
