Carnival 2018 - Something for Everyone

The Ministry of Tourism is collaborating with several stakeholders to enhance the experience of our visitors for Carnival 2018.

Cultural Welcome
As visitors touch down at Piarco International Airport; the Ministry of Tourism, the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago and Caribbean Airlines are all set to give our guests a taste of Carnival. The party starts as they exit the Customs area, where there will be a steelpan band, traditional Carnival characters, costumed masqueraders and a DJ playing the latest soca hits. Exciting tours, free doubles and giveaways - including tickets to Carnival events and return trips to Trinidad and Tobago - are all on offer for our Carnival guests. Today, Wednesday 7th February, the activities kick off at 5pm and end at 8pm. On Thursday, visitors get a first-hand taste of J’ouvert in the airport from 4am – 8am.

Craft Market
Hosted by the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and the Arts, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Tourism; from Wednesday 7th February – Friday 9th February, visitors can explore the world of local craft at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA). Proudly created in T&T, “We Craft, We Culture” is open from 10:00am on all three days.

Information on the go
Two Ministry of Tourism information booths will provide easy access to residents and visitors, not only with Carnival specific information; but also tips on all the recreational opportunities available in Trinidad and Tobago all year round. One booth will be set up on the Brian Lara Promenade and the other will be located at the Queen’s Park Savannah opposite Dundonald Street. Both booths will operate from Carnival Saturday, 10th February – Carnival Tuesday, 13th February.
