CAL to fill void left by ferries

Caribbean Airlines advises that effective March 13, the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (AATT) has agreed in the interest of customer service, to reduce the hours of closure of the A.N.R. Robinson International Airport to 1.30 a.m. – 5. 45 a.m.

Further, the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (PATT) has advised that there will be no passenger ferry sailings until March 22. Caribbean Airlines is working closely with the Port Authority to ensure that the 2,922 persons holding confirmed ferry tickets for the initial period March 13-March 22 will be accommodated on Caribbean Airlines services at no additional cost to the passenger.

The airline is also finalizing arrangements to obtain an additional aircraft specifically dedicated to the air bridge which will provide 1088 extra seats daily. An update on this will be sent in a separate media release.

There is a process in place for customers with confirmed ferry tickets to access air travel, specifically:

• Travelers with no vehicles, may go direct to the airports and present their confirmed tickets for possible acceptance for travel on Caribbean Airlines
• Persons will only be placed on flights for the specific date listed on their confirmed ferry ticket
• Passengers with vehicles must first check in at the Ports and after check-in will be shuttled via PTSC to the Piarco International Airport and the ANR International Airport, at no additional cost.
• If persons wish to travel on a date that is different to the date on their confirmed ferry ticket, they may go to the Port and change the ferry ticket date there or purchase a Same Day Standby ticket from Caribbean Airlines.

Caribbean Airlines thanks all inter-island commuters for adhering to this process to ensure a seamless travel experience and re-affirms its commitment to providing consistent and reliable service to its valued customers.
