The Business of Fashion Series - Turning Creativity into Revenue

August 16, 2016: On Saturday 27th August 2016, the Trinidad and Tobago Fashion Company Limited (FashionTT) will be hosting the first in a series of Creativity and Business of Fashion Workshops aimed at providing local fashion designers and entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools to turn their creativity into business opportunities.

Lisa-Marie Daniel, General Manager of FashionTT explained, “Local fashion designers are overflowing with talent and creativity but they may not know how to use or maximise their ability to earn revenue. How does creativity fit into the business context? What are the elements needed for conducting fashion business internationally? How to protect your intellectual property? These topics and many more will be addressed in this series of workshops and we hope that participants can make this shared knowledge and understanding work in their favour.”

The first workshop will be facilitated by Margaret Bishop, a high energy, passionate leader and accomplished apparel manager with proven results in entrepreneurial and established business environments. Margaret has broad experience in textile and apparel production. She's knowledgeable in garment construction, embellishment, fit, fabrication, and quality including compliance, restricted substances, California Prop 65 and California Transparency in Supply Chains Act. Margaret is also an internationally recognized authority on supply chain excellence, lean enterprise in the apparel industry, and reshoring garment manufacturing, from artisanal to industrial scale production domestic and worldwide. She has worked in 50 countries and has built, led, and managed successful, collaborative multinational senior management teams in Asia, Africa, Haiti, and the United States

At the workshop on 27th August, 2016, Margaret will be covering the following topics:
