Benefit concert for disaster victims

Live at Fiesta Plaza will now serve as a benefit concert for those who have been adversely affected by the recent floods.

The highly anticipated Live Music District (LMD) is back on with a benefit concert. The Trinidad and Tobago Music Company Limited (MusicTT) has announced that, after its postponement last Sunday, the 2nd Phase of its flagship project will begin this Sunday, 28th October, with Live at Fiesta Plaza, MovieTowne, Port of Spain from 5:30PM.


MusicTT will be have bins setup for the collection of donation items such as canned and packaged food, bottle water, bleach, disinfectant and so on. There will also be LMD branded Tip Jars available for money collection to go towards the relief efforts as well.

The event will feature live performances by Kern Sumerville, Daniel Griffith, Noche Blanca, Donald Job and many others.

The Pilot (Phase 1) featured soloists, duets and bands, in its artist roster. The 2nd Phase of the Live Music District will now include instrumentalists as part of the artist roster and will continue to take place in the city of Port of Spain and environs. The Pilot Phase saw over 167 registered artistes, 68 of which were chosen by venues to perform at their establishments. Artistes, consisting of both seasoned and up-and-coming, performed to over 2900 persons at various registered LMD venues and 11 special events throughout the 16-week period.

The Live Music District was launched in March 2018 and has since provided local artistes with opportunities to showcase their talent at various events and locations throughout the Port of Spain district. Registered artistes have performed at venues such as Radisson Hotel, Hilton Hotel, Smokey and Bunty, Kaiso Blues Café, Xperience Event Centre, D’Bocas and Rizzoni’s to name a few, as well as at signature events such as Live at the Gardens, Live on the Avenue and Live on the Promenade.
