Angostura supports MoE's Safety and Sanitization
Minister of Education the Honourable Anthony Garcia and Minister of State in the Ministry of Education Dr the Honourable Lovell Francis visited the House of Angostura on Wednesday 25th June 2020 where a presentation of sanitization products was made to the Ministry. The presentation was made by Chief Executive Officer of Angostura Peter Sandstrom along with Chief Operations Officer Ian Forbes and Executive Manager Corporate Services Rahim Mohammed.
The Ministry of Education received 293 boxes of sanitizer that will be distributed to 586 schools in Trinidad while additional boxes will be presented to the Tobago House of Assembly at a later date for the 46 schools in Tobago. Each government and government assisted school will receive approximately twelve (12) 375ml bottles of sanitizer.
In addition to the donation to all schools, Angostura has also donated additional items to schools within the Morvant/Laventille communities in which the company resides. The 15 primary and 4 secondary schools within the area will receive items such as hand washing sinks, liquid soap, soap dispensers, paper towels, cleaning detergents, health and safety signs, thermal temperature scanners and water tanks.
Minister Garcia commended Angostura for being another entity withing corporate Trinidad and Tobago who has stepped up to support the Ministry during these unprecedented times. He stated "This donation will help with the 'New Normal' and support the health and safety practices at all times within our schools. These items are also going into schools at a convenient time as students prepare to return to schools for their examinations."
The Ministry of Education continues to prioritise health and safety of students as all efforts are made to ready schools for the return of school personnel while observing the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and World Health Organisation.
